Eungkot Keumamah (wooden fish) is made of tuna that has been been boiled
and then dried in the sun for a few days, so it having such a hard texture of
wood. Eungkot keumamah (wooden fish) is a very popular food both children and
adults in Aceh.
Ingredients
and Seasonings:

350 grams of dried tuna fish ( keumamah), shredded
thickly
·
salt to taste
·
lime juice
·
8 green chillies (cut in half)
·
200 grams of potatoes (cut into dices)
·
3 fresh Averrhoa bilimbi (cut into pieces)
·
2 shallots ( sliced)
·
8 curry leaves
·
150 ml coconut milk
·
5 tablespoons oil to saute
Grind spices:
·
7 shallots
·
3 cloves of garlic
·
1 tsp coriander
·
15 pieces of cayenne pepper
·
5 red chilies
·
1 tsp turmeric powder
·
1 cm ginger
·
10 asam sunti (dried Averrhoa bilimbi)
Instructions:
·
Mix lime juice with wood fish that have been shredded
(cut), a little salt and mix with grind spices, stir well. Set aside
·
While heat oil, saute onion and curry leaves until
fragrant. Add wooden fish that has given spices, green chillies, potatoes, asam
sunti and fresh Averrhoa bilimbi, stir.
·
Pour coconut milk, cook over medium heat until cooked.
Remove and serve.
