SALTED VEGETABLES WITH PEANUT SAUCE (ASINAN BETAWI)

Asinan Betawi  is one of traditional food from Betawi (Jakarta). It is salad made from a mix of pickled vegetables with sweet, sour and spicy peanut sauce, topped with a handful of rice crackers. The taste is very delicious and every people like this food because it is easy to make and ingredients are selling in the market around us.
Ingredients:
  • 100 gr cabbage (slice thinly and wash clean)
  • 50 gr bean sprouts (boiled)
  • 3 pieces salted mustard greens (cut 2cm)
  • 50 gr pickled carrots (cut ino length)
  • 4 pieces lettuce (cut 2 cm))
  • 1 cucumber (cut into cube)
  • 100 gr peanut (fried and grind)
  • 3 red chili (grind)
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • Rice cracker
How to make asinan Betawi

  1. Mix ground red chili with peanut using hot water
  2. Add vinegar, sugar, and salt. Mix well
  3. Then place all vegetables on a plate and pour peanut sauce on it. Serve with rice cracker
