Timphan is one of traditional cake in Aceh. if you come and visit this
place, you will find timphan in many coffee shop. Timphan is also made in
special even like great day, wedding ceremony, custom ceremony, etc. Timphan is
made of glutinous rice flour, filled with coconat jam and wrapped in banana leaves.
If you wanna try to make timphan cake, following the way of making:
Ingredients:
- 250 grams of glutinous rice
flour
- 200
grams of papaya (peeled, boiled and
mashed with coconut milk)
- 100 ml
coconut milk
- 1 tea spoon
salt
- 1 tea
spoon sugar
- Vegetable
oil
- young banana leaves
contents:
- 100 grams rather young coconut,
grated
- 100 ml water
- 1
teaspoon salt
- 50
grams sugar
- 2
pieces of pandanus leaves
How to make:

Take a pan and pour water in it. Then put salt, sugar,
grated coconut and pandanus leaves. Cook until it dry. Set aside.
Dough:
· Mix glutinous rice flour, mashed papaya, sugar, salt,
and coconut milk. Stir well. Then take a piece of young banana leaves, smear
the leaves with oil so it isn’t sticky. put a spoonful of glutinous rice flour
dough. Flatten to elongate and put a tea spoon contents on it. Roll up, fold
both end. Steam for 30 minutes until done. Lift.
